Black Shed Studios and Sunnyview

It is two years since we moved to the village of Fairwarp. Our home, Sunnyview, came with three acres of land, various outbuildings and a huge black workshop, now converted into a studio and teaching space.

We love it here. We are surrounded by fields of grasses and wildflowers, buzzing with bees and butterflies, and forest full of birds, badgers and deer.

Our vision is to make Sunnyview even more beautiful and even fuller of wildlife. We have dug a wildlife pond, planted trees and started work on ornamental gardens and of course a veggie patch.

We hope you will love it here too and that your course with us will be full of natural inspiration, fresh air and fun!

Sandy Infield

Artist & teacher

I studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Art and have taught & made my own work ever since.

I continue to paint, but also use batik and printmaking. I have sold and exhibit internationally.

You can see my work by clicking the link below.

I have always found that teaching improves my work. Seeing art through the eyes of my pupils enriches my own vision. When you join a class or course at Black Shed Studios you can expect to be nurtured and encouraged. You will never be asked to copy but rather we will support you to develop your own style and strengthen your skills.

Making art is fun and empowering. You will see real progress in your work and have the satisfaction of knowing that you did not copy, you created!

.

Sandy Infield is a talented teacher whose enthusiasm for the creative expression is catching.  She creates an environment where even the most inexperienced student feels free to experiment and try new mediums.

Sandy taught me painting over a period of several years. She introduced me to oil, watercolour and pastel painting. She is an inspirational teacher infecting students with her enthusiasm and skillfully supporting and encouraging those of all levels. I always found her comments and advice accurate and insightful; she helped me develop confidence and the ability to work independently.
